Amy
Amy is one of the Marketeers of Team Select - one of her main roles is blogger-in-chief, but she also looks after the Select Travel Holidays website, and is also responsible for much of the content on our dedicated cruise site, Cruise Select. She's been a full-time member of Team Select since 2015, but as a teenager, she was always on hand to help with labelling and stuffing mailshots. She's been cruising since a child, and has a particular love for small-ship cruises.
Although Amy studied Modern History and Politics, and went on to study law and had a job working in Wills and Probate, Amy soon felt that law was not where her heart lay. The third generation of her family in travel, Amy followed in her mum, Rachel's, footsteps, and joined Select Travel Holidays. As a child, she had always wanted to be a writer, and now she can combine this dream with a passion for travel, as she blogs, writes articles for our Select magazine, and details holidays on our websites.
As Amy researches holidays to add to the Select Travel Holidays site, her own personal bucketlist gets ever longer. Top on her list of places she wants to visit include Burma, Antarctica, and Namibia, but she's already been lucky enough to tick off Machu Picchu and Peru for her birthday with G Adventures. After her recent first trip to Asia, exploring Saigon in Vietnam and Cambodia, she's completely fallen in love with Asia and can't wait to go back. Luckily for Amy, she's since discovered India's iconic Golden Triangle on a small group tour with Intrepid in February 2018, and even explored more of Vietnam (Hanoi, Hue, and Hoi An, and a Mekong river cruise from Phnom Penh over to the Vietnamese side). Being an avid foodie and historian, she loves experiencing different cuisines and learning about other cultures. She's an advocate of small group touring having experienced the benefits herself with Insider Journeys, G Adventures, Intrepid and Back-Roads Touring, and was shortlisted for the inaugural ATAS Ambassador Award at the 2019 Agent Achievement Awards.
