Sharon started in travel at the ripe old age of 16, attracted by the idea of working in an industry ‘where you get to learn about other countries and have the opportunity to travel’. Forty years later, Sharon is still just as enthusiastic: ‘I love the fact that working in travel no two days are the same in the office and one day you may be sat at your desk, and the next enjoying a travel experience first hand. I have found that working in travel, you are on a continuous learning curve; even after forty years, there is so much still to learn about the world of travel.’

When you have a love of travel, it can be difficult to choose a favourite destination – Sharon recently returned from a trip on the Danube where she visited some beautiful places and she’s experienced a safari in South Africa and ‘I loved them equally, although they were obviously very different experiences’. Sharon’s South African safari was ‘an amazing opportunity to get up close and personal with elephants, rhinos and other animals.’
